It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Joshua Shay Adamson, age 28, of Duncan, Oklahoma, who went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 27, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, following a tragic accident.
Josh was the beloved son of Billy and Traci Adamson of Duncan, Oklahoma, and Shawna Cartwright of Lawton, Oklahoma. His siblings include Billy Adamson Jr. and partner Jayme Harris of Duncan, Heather and husband Taylor Schooling of Duncan, and Bret Daniels of Duncan.
He was a proud uncle who deeply adored his niece, Blakely, and his nephews, Ayden, Cedar, and Trevor.
Josh was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Sharon Adamson and Jean Millard.
A 2014 graduate of Duncan High School, Josh excelled at soccer. He went on to attend the University of Oklahoma and Cameron University, in pursuit of a degree in Economics.
Josh was an avid hunter-no duck was ever safe! He especially loved playing in the annual Duncan soccer alumni game alongside his brother Billy.
A celebration of life will be announced in the future and will be held in Duncan, Oklahoma, officiated by his long-time friend, Christian Murillo.
Josh will be missed tremendously and forever remain in the hearts of his family.
