Leona “Rabbit” Jones, 65 of Franklin, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, April 23, 2025.

She was born on July 25, 1959 in Marianna, Arkansas to Arbelia Vanpelt (Jones) and Willie Jones. She is survived by her fiancé, Jerry Malone, Sr.; children, Denise Blackburn (Noah), Tavares Jones and Jeremy Jones (Sarah Frye); grandchildren, Denitra Woodson, Christopher Jones, Jawon Jones, Natrianna Jenkins, Tariah Taylor, Traveon Jones, Ashayla Catey, and Ashton Catey; great-grandchildren, Davianna, Loreal, Alijah, Jazymn, Kamari, A’milleyon, and Karter. She is also survived by her siblings, Myrtle Hampton, Arbelia Washington, Mary Dukes, Estella Woods and John Lee Jones and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Leona was preceded in passing by her parents and siblings, Jimmy Hudson, Michael Jones, Johnny Howard Miller, Augusta Hawkins and Willie Mae Blade.

Leona graduated from the Westinghouse High School in Chicago. She attended college at Ivy Tech.

She was a homemaker and stay at home mother.

Leona enjoyed dancing, cooking and bowling. She most loved caring for her family and grandkids and spending time with all of them. She loved singing.

A celebration of Leona’s life will be held on Saturday, May 10th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with visitation on Saturday, May 10th from 1:00 p.m. to time of service at the funeral home.
