Tuffy Morehouse 72, of Silvis, Illinois passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025. Born on June 17,1952 to Clinton and Ina Janette (Danner) Morehouse. He married Cindy Dusenberry on May 28, 1983, in Rock Island where they built a life together and raised their two sons.

Tuffy had a passion for racing, especially dirt track racing. He raced his iconic number 57 car and later partnered on the 28m car with Harold Masengarb. He served as a track official at East Moline Speedway and he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2016. One of Pop’s greatest prides was his son Clint’s success in racing. He watched Clint drive and own his own race cars, sharing a special bond through their love for the sport.

 Tuffy was the proud owner and operator of Morehouse Trucking, where he spent many years behind the wheel of his dump truck. Though he never served in the military himself, he was incredibly proud of his son Jake’s 21 years of service in the U.S. Army. Tuffy was also a loyal fan of the New England Patriot’s and he cherished sharing that passion with his son Jake.

He is survived by his sons and their spouses, Clint and Michelle Morehouse of Colona, IL and Jake and Kristie Morehouse of Fort Knox, KY. His 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Sue Mitchell, Rob Morehouse, Lori Cutrell, and Ben Morehouse along with many friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Cindy, his parents, and his sister Patricia.

 In keeping with Tuffy’s wishes, no funeral services will be held at this time. The family will host a celebration of life in the coming months to celebrate the road he traveled and the lasting impact he made.
