James Carroll Bussell, "Jim", 85 passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at his home in Ft. McCoy with his wife and daughter at his side. He was born in Haywood County, North Carolina, October 16, 1939, to Margaret Bradburn Ivester. He played football for Clyde High School where he graduated in 1958. After high school he joined the United States Navy in 1958 and retired after 22 years of service in 1980. He was stationed in Jacksonville FL, Albuquerque NM, San Diego CA and Key West FL. He was an Aircraft Mechanic and serviced in the in the Vietnam war. After retiring from the US Navy, he went to work for TWA and retired after 10 years.

He loved fishing, the Florida Gators, Kansas City Chiefs and his family.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marie Bussell; daughter, Kathy Bussell Carroll; and sons, Scott Bussell and James A. Bussell (Sonja); sister Brenda Bussell Sheppard (Harold); grandchildren, James M. Bussell, David Gammon, Leigh Milton, Crystal Witt, Steven Gammon, Tory Darling and Jillian Bussell; 11 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews

He is preceded in death by his mother, a sister, Patricia Bussell Burch and grandson Joey Gammon.

His family will receive friends from 10:30 -11:00 am on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at graveside. Services will start at 11:00 am in Salt Springs Christian Church Memorial Gardens.
