Steve Thomas Hardison, 66, passed away on April 26, 2025, at his father's beach house in Atlantic Beach. A man who loved to fish and spend time at the beach, Steve could often be found near the water. He loved to tell jokes and make others laugh, and play scratch offs, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his family and grandchildren, whom he adored.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Lorretta Hardison Smith.

Steve is survived by his son, Ryan Hardison and wife, Federica of Spain; daughter, Paige Powers and husband, Michael of Edenton; father, J.T. Hardison and wife, Kathi of Kinston; brothers, Jason M. Hardison of Greenville and Jefferey Carruth and wife Angela of Beaufort; grandchildren, Seph, Brayden, Kaylin, Adam, Asthon Thomas, and Arya.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at the Howard-Carter Funeral home on Saturday, May 3, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation following.
