Dora - Palacios Obituary

Dora Palacios, passed away at the age of 83 on April 26, 2025, in Banning, California, due to an unfortunate house fire. Born on October 17, 1941, in Tempe, Arizona, Dora spent her life nurturing the spirits of everyone around her with her faith-filled heart and boundless generosity. She was the cherished wife of John Gilbert Palacios Sr., with whom she shared an enduring love for 66 years.

Dora's life was a testament to her caring nature and her commitment to her family. She was a devoted mother to Stephanie Lynn Fish and Patrick Allen Palacios, and a loving sister to Johnny and Billy Rocha, and Margaret Rocha. Her legacy continues through her ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were her pride and joy.

Her early education in Banning Schools paved the way for her graduation from Beaumont High School. Dora's work ethic shone brightly throughout her career, as she made significant contributions to the Banning shirt factory, Dicks Sporting Goods, Record Gazette, and Dowlings.

Dora's involvement in the community was marked by her active participation in the 1st Mexican Baptist Church in Banning, California. She found great joy in Woman's Bowling and was a familiar, friendly face working in the little league and pop warner snack bars. Her passion for cooking was an extension of her love for others, often preparing meals for children and families in need, a true reflection of her giving spirit.

Her life was a living example of the words that best describe her: loving, selfless, and faith- filled. Dora's unwavering support and generosity towards her family and community left a lasting impact that will be cherished and remembered by all who had the fortune to know her.

Dora's family includes not only those she leaves behind but also those who preceded her in passing, including her beloved sons Don Michael Palacios, Don Michael Palacios, Mark Anthony Palacios, John Gilbert Palacios Jr., and Christopher Ryan Palacios, and her grandson Wayne Allen Fish Jr. She was also predeceased by her father Alfred Soto, mother Cruz Soto, and brothers Alfred Soto Jr. and Sammy Soto.

As we bid farewell to Dora, we celebrate the remarkable life she lived and the profound impact she made on those around her. Her spirit, characterized by boundless love and selflessness, will continue to inspire and guide us. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, the essence of who she was remains an integral part of the fabric of our lives.
