Detrich James Thompson passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, in Batesville, AR. He was born on March 21, 1954, to Quitman J. Thompson and Katherine Rodriguez Thompson in Raleigh, MS.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Quitman J. Thompson and Katherine Thompson; his daughter, Angela Hope Thompson; and his sister, Annette Sykes.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Rebecca Simmons Thompson; sons, Rodney Thompson (Sharonda), Kevin Thompson (Jennifer); sister, Patsy Rayner (Rufus); five grandchildren, Hannah Van Duren, Emily Crow, Gabrielle Thompson, Austin Thompson and Wells Thompson; four great-grandchildren, Gage, Brixlee, Hudson and Remington along with a host of many nieces, nephews, friends and his church family.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at New Life Church, 2167 US Hwy 49, Mendenhall, MS 39114, from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm. The service will be on Friday, May 2, at 2:00 pm at New Life Church with Bro. Gary Phillips and Bro. Ronnie Wright officiating. Interment will follow the service at New Life Cemetery.
