Deborah Sue Corwin Obituary

Deborah (Debbie) Sue Corwin passed away on April 27th, 2025, at the age of 71, after a long, hard fight with breast cancer. She was surrounded by her family in her final moments.

Debbie was born on August 8th, 1953 to John and Patsy Landis in Asheville, Ohio. She was raised in Dunedin, FL and moved to the Old Town area in 1985. She retired from Gator Gas after 29 years of service. She served in ministry as a children’s church leader for 28 years, where she taught countless people about the love of Jesus. She used her testimony as an example of God’s power to make beauty from the ashes of life.

She enjoyed spending time by the water, whether that be at the beach, on the boat, or in the pool. She also enjoyed gardening and was a member of a garden club.

But her greatest joys in life were spending time with her family and friends, reading or sharing the word of God, and praying.

Debbie was the heart and soul of her family. She was the strongest, most loving, devoted- wife, mother, grammy, great grammy and mother-in-law. She cherished every moment with her family and especially loved the holidays when everyone came together. She touched every life she came across. She offered support, wisdom, guidance and love to anyone she met.

Her dedication, perseverance and love for God was evident every day of her life. She was described as “a woman whose presence truly felt like heaven.”

Full of love, laughter and resilience, she made an impact on all who knew her. Her absence leaves a void and brokenness in our hearts. But we find comfort in knowing that she is now in Heaven, in the arms of Jesus, being rewarded for her faithfulness on Earth. She is now healed and made whole.

Debbie is survived by her husband of 40 years, Don Corwin, her four daughters, Amy (Chris) Osteen, Paula (Billy) Edmonds, Jenny (Danny) Hopkins, Bethany (James) Blacketer, 15 grandchildren and their spouses (whom she loved like her own) 10 great-grandchildren and other extended family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Landis and Patsy Landis, brother, David Landis, and grandson, Korde Osteen.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 9th, 2025 at the Haven Hospice Community Center located at 311 NE 9th St, Chiefland, FL 32626
