Dee L. Heiner Obituary

Darlin L. “Dee” Heiner, 84, of Spring Grove, PA, dies Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at UPMC Memorial Hospital, York, PA. Born on February 10, 1941, in Brodbecks, PA, Dee was the child of the late Edward J. and Ruth E. (Masemer) Hetrick. She is remembered by her children, Jenny Behney (Michael) of Etters, Jessica Heiner (Fred) of Hanover, and Jeremy Heiner (Jennifer) of Clarksville, TN. Dee also leaves behind two cherished grandsons, Austin McDaniel (Kelsey) and Evan McDaniel (Amber); and siblings, Maxine, Dennis, and Patricia. A graduate of Spring Grove High School, Dee worked at Black & Decker before later serving the Spring Grove School District as a custodian. Dee’s life was filled with simple joys and meaningful connections. Her warmth shone brightest in the love she gave her family, especially her grandchildren, and in the joy she found in simple pleasures like cooking and baking. She was famous for her amazing pumpkin rolls. She treasured lifelong friends, the “band moms” and the “59ers.” Dee also enjoyed spending time at camp, watching for deer, and caring for her beloved pets.
