Raymond A. Costin, 74, of Billings, Montana died on April 27, 2025. He was born on September 24, 1950 to Louis and Signe Costin in Glasgow, Montana. His family ended up moving to Havre, Montana where he graduated from Havre High School. He graduated from Western Technical College in Denver, Colorado. He and his wife, Kristin Knowles Costin were married in Aurora Colorado July 7, 1973 and last year celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. Along with his wife he is survived by his son, Tyler Costin of Westminster, Colorado; daughter, Karlene (Robert) Warner of Guthrie, Oklahoma; Granddaughter Corrine (Colton) Craft, Great-Grandson Koda Craft, and Grandson Connor (Natalie) McCarty; brother Norman (Janet) Costin of Billings, Montana; Sister Betty (Ron) Brinkman of Denton, Montana. Also survived by Scott Knowles, brother–in-law; Joellen Knowles and Yvonne Costin, sister-in-laws; many nieces, nephews and cousins from Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Montana and Washington.


He was preceded in death by his son Spencer L. Costin of Arvada, Colorado; parents Louis and Signe Costin of Havre, Montana; parents-in-law Lt. Col. Ret. Alva C. and Jane Knowles of Aurora, Colorado; brother Theron Costin of Aurora, Colorado; brother-in-law Greg Knowles of Kansas; Nephew Tony Costin of Billings, Montana.


During high school, he worked at the Havre theater and in the summer worked on his Brother-in-law’s farm in Denton, Montana. After graduation he moved to Colorado where he attended a technical college in Denver, worked at the Climax Mine near Leadville, Colorado, and did residential construction in the Denver area. Ray then worked as a Soils Engineer Technician before he and his business partner started their own Soils Engineering Company in Arvada Colorado 1984-2004

He enjoyed playing snooker and pool; in his early 20’s he took up skydiving, water skiing and was part of a Jeep club. He enjoyed fly fishing, lake fishing, camping, and woodworking. He was a member HOG since 1989 and an avid Harley rider visiting many states and Mexico. Also, Ray was an active member of Arvada, Colorado Elks for 20 years.


His celebrations of life have not been scheduled at this time. His interment will be at Olinger Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. In Lieu of flowers please donate to your local Hospice or any charity of your choice. Any donations will continue to live with love for those in need.
