Maggie Mae Davis was born October 3, 1934, in Forkland, Alabama, to the late Louis and Alice Williams. She sweetly transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at Sapphire Rehabilitation Center in Columbus, Ohio.

Maggie attended South High School in Columbus, Ohio, in the 1950s. Maggie was well known to many as “Madea”, which means “Mother Dear,” and her family called her “Bae”. Madea fed, educated, showed love to all who needed, gave good advice, to all those that were in the neighborhood. She would teach her family about the God that she served, and the Bible that she lived by. Madea Loved to dress nicely, with a huge passion for shoes, purses, and hats. Do you have a minute? If not, take one as Medea loved to talk. She took the time to impart wisdom and knowledge to you about things she loved, health, education, shopping, relationships, and saving money.

Maggie was a homemaker for many years. She was also an ordained missionary, where she served on the missionary board for many years. Maggie loved the Lord, and was always ready to talk about the Lord. She would go to the nursing homes and hospitals to see the sick and shut-in as part of her missionary ministry in which she did for many years.

Besides her parents, Louis and Alice Williams. Maggie is preceded in death by her stepmother, Maple C. Williams; brother, Joe Louis Williams; sisters, Annie Pearl Woods and Bernice Fletcher; son, Gerald Douglas; and two great-grandsons, Ja’ Shaun Lightfoot and Jalen Alexander.

Maggie leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Michael (Yris) Westmoreland of Forkland, Alabama, John Douglas, and James Douglas; daughter-in-love, Shereesa Douglas of Douglasville, Georgia; sons, Kevin Douglas of Phoenix, Arizona, and Kevin Davis; and daughter, Sonyea Lightfoot of Columbus, Ohio. Maggie will also be cherished by her sister, Vera Merriweather of Cincinnati, Ohio; brother-in-love, Bruce Fletcher; devoted granddaughter, Nafeeshia Lightfoot; adopted daughters, Monica Mickens Diane, Truman; Goddaughter, Theresa Hammond; God Grandson, Elder Dr. Paul Davis all of Columbus, Ohio; as well as a special niece, Deborah Cornelius of Racine, Wisconsin; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
