Rene Jude Barthelemy Jr., a beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, passed away on April 23, 2025, at the age of 23. Born in Gretna, Louisiana, Rene was a lifelong resident of Port Sulphur, where he was known and cherished for his infectious smile, joyful spirit, and unwavering kindness.
Rene was baptized at St. Patrick Catholic Church, lovingly supported by his godparents Fabian and Brenella Ancar, and his honorary godparents, the late Lance Saylvia and Jennifer Billiot. He received his education at South Plaquemines Elementary and High School, as well as Dutchtown School. In 2018, he proudly graduated from the Youth Challenge Program (YCP) and earned his GED in 2024.

Rene made lasting friendships with Kyra, Page, Caden, Jacques, Jacob, Bogga, and many others-connections that brought him joy and enriched the lives of those around him. He was lovingly raised in faith by his great-grandmother Augustine Ancar and his grandfather Rene Ancar, who played foundational roles in his life.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandmother Augustine Ancar, great-grandfather Gerald Ancar Sr., grandfather Rene Ancar, and Joseph Garrett. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted mother Virginia Barthelemy, father Rene Barthelemy Sr., brothers Lucas and Marcus Barthelemy, and sister Izabell Barthelemy. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandmothers Ann Garrett and Patricia Charles, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Rene's legacy lives on through the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the celebration of life service which will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Port Sulphur Baptist Church 27080 Hwy 23, Port Sulphur LA. The visitation for immediate family will begin at 8:00 AM, followed by a public visitation at 9:00 AM. The service will begin at 10AM., officiated by Pastor Burghart Turner. Interment will follow in Barthelemy Cemetery in Diamond.
