E Morris Gray Jr. of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in his 87th year. A proud graduate of St. Aloysius (’55), Tulane University with a BS (’59) and a MS (’62). He was commissioned as a Naval officer (59-61). He was a civil engineer and devoted 36 years to McDermott, improving the oil and gas industry around the world. He was a faithful member of St. Dominic’s church and served on the finance committee. He was a member at large serving on the board of directors for the Tulane NROTC. He was a dedicated Eagle Scout and scout leader.

 Beloved father of Denise Marie (John), E Morris III (Annette), and Richard Gregory (Arianna). He was the cherished grandfather of Allen, Emily (Jared), Michael, Alexandra, and Georgia; and adored brother of James Saucier (Julie). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Morris and Jeanne Marie Saucier; wife Jane Helen Elizardi; son Joseph Aloysius; daughter Kathleen Marie; and brother Donald Dwight (Kay). Charismatic and charming, Morris held court when he spoke. His life stories were rich, and he was great at telling them. He was a world traveler, and his family experienced such a cultured and interesting life with him in Europe and New Orleans. He loved Tulane. There was seldom a day when he was not seen in green. He loved his family fiercely. He was the centering force holding us together and we will honor him with our love for each other and by continuing the traditions he cherished. The angels have carried you home and God has received you into the kingdom of Heaven. We will hold you in our hearts until we meet again.

 A funeral mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Schoen Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, on Saturday May 3rd, 2025, at 12:00pm, visitation to begin at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in his honor to the American Diabetes Association or the American Kidney Foundation
