Michael Westly Lillie, 55, of Louisville passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday April 26, 2025. His family is devasted by this loss and he will be forever missed.

He was born in Louisville on December 11, 1969, with a naturally sweet heart and kind soul. He had a big smile for everyone he met and was a joy to be around. He was a proud 1988 graduate of St X high school and graduated from UofL with a degree in Criminal Justice.

In his youth he played many sports and grew to love the outdoors from family camping and boating trips. He was passionate about hunting and going out on his fishing boat that he called the Lillie Pad. He enjoyed four-wheeling, with his life-long friend Billy Perkins and was a big fan of riding motorcycles, scuba diving and going to U of L games. He loved movies, music and talking on the phone with friends and family.

He worked in security for JCPS, having retired after 27 years. He was a long-time member of the Fraternal Order of Police and a Kentucky Colonel. He was loved by his family, friends and neighbors. He loved his nieces and once traveled with his dear friend and brother-in-law to Marius’s family in Romania.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Westly Lillie.

He is survived by his mother, Phyllis Jeanne Lillie (Norton); sister Amanda Lillie (Marius Baltateanu); beloved nieces, Alexa and Simone Baltateanu; lifelong friend Billy Perkins, and large extended family of Norton’s and Lillie’s, neighbors and friends.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Monday May 5, 2025, at St. William Church 1226 W. Oak Street.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home 3800 Bardstown Road.
