Nancy C. Broyles, a beacon of compassion and strength, passed away on April 23, 2025, at the age of 75. Born on April 26, 1949, in Elmhurst, Illinois to Arthur C. Steinhebel and Elsie Guse, Nancy's life was a testament to her thoughtful nature, friendly demeanor, and deep faith. Her journey began as a graduate of Mac-High in Milton-Freewater, Oregon -- where she had spent her childhood. Nancy dedicated 27 years of service at DSHS advancing from a diligent clerk to a devoted social services and welfare worker.

Nancy's commitment to her work was paralleled only by her devotion to her family. Her heart was a haven for her beloved husband, Bob Broyles, with whom she shared life's joys and challenges. She was a guiding light for her son, Tarrin (Melissa Heimbigner), and her daughter, Misty Carol (partner Jim), instilling in them values of kindness and perseverance. Nancy's legacy continues through her three grandchildren, Elize, Allyson, and Brooklyn, as well as her three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her brother, Charles Steinhebel, Nancy's memory will be honored and cherished by her surviving brothers, Duane (Cathy) Steinhebel, Cody (Sharlene) Cox, and Kevin (Norma) Cox, as well as her step-daughters, Shawna and Cheri.

In celebrating Nancy’s cherished life, we are reminded of the impact one individual can have on the lives of many. Her story is one of love, service, and the enduring power of family and faith. Nancy's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of kindness and care, a tapestry that will continue to inspire and comfort others.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Nancy on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 1 pm at Calvary Chapel on 2139 Fern Ave., Walla Walla, WA 99362.
