NORTH BROOKFIELD- Lucas A. Barkoskie, 20, of North Brookfield,  died on Sunday, April 27,2025 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. 

A beloved son and brother, Lucas is survived by his mother Lisa (Plouffe) Barkoskie and father Aven Barkoskie; sister Ellen Barkoskie; a brother Nicholas Barkoskie; his maternal grandparents, Donna (DeCiantis) Plouffe and Wallace Plouffe; paternal grandparents Cathleen (Nykiel) Barkoskie and Dale Barkoskie; numerous aunts; uncles; cousins and close friends.

Lucas was born on January 30, 2005 and was raised in North Brookfield on farmland once owned by his great-grandfather. From an early age, he developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors and life memories that began with sitting on his father's lap in the skid steer and grew into working alongside him in the family landscape business.

An old soul and a friend to all, Lucas had a knack to connect with people of all ages, whether helping aging farmers work their land, or working on cars and trucks with his friends. He will be remembered for his sky blue eyes, quick smile, and the kindness he extended to both friends and strangers. Lucas was an exceptional big brother to his younger siblings and a loyal friend who found joy in the company of both.

Lucas Barkoskie touched many lives in his short time on earth, and he will no doubt live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to have known this remarkable young man.

Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours for Lucas on Wednesday, May 7,2025 from 10:30-12:30PM in Quaboag Church 175 Fiskdale Rd. Brookfield. The service will follow at 12:30PM in the church. Burial will be in Brookfield Cemetery.
