Arnold Evans Stewart passed away on April 26, 2025, in Youngsville, North Carolina, at the age of 87. He was born on February 26, 1938, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, to Willard and Valeria Stewart.
Arnold proudly served in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1959. Following his service, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University. He went on to build a long and successful career with Kodak in the Professional Photo Finishing Division.
On September 15, 1962, Arnold married Jane (Cook), with whom he shared a devoted partnership and raised a loving family. He is remembered with affection by his children: Joanna Stewart McLeod of Redmond, Oregon; Daniel Stewart and his wife Stephanie of Exeter, New Hampshire; and Matthew Stewart and his wife Kate of Waxhaw, North Carolina.
Arnold was a proud grandfather to Cooper McLeod (Jordan) of Kapolei, Hawaii; Aster, Isaac, and Colin Stewart of Exeter, New Hampshire; and Dylan and Lexi Stewart of Waxhaw, North Carolina. He also leaves behind his great-granddaughter Vivienne McLeod.
He is also survived by his sister Ruth Buhite and brother Willard Stewart, along with several nieces and nephews and a wide circle of friends whose lives he touched over the years.
After retiring, Arnold dedicated time to serving others through Meals on Wheels programs in Monroe County, New York, and Franklin County, North Carolina. He found joy in spending time with family and friends and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and golf.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Arnold’s name to your local Meals on Wheels program.
