Marvin D. "Marv" Yoder Obituary

Marvin D. "Marv" Yoder, age 52, of Millersburg passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, April 26, 2025.

Born on May 15, 1972, in Millersburg Ohio to Daniel and Clara (Bowman) Yoder, Marv lived a life full of passion, hard work, and joy.

A true entrepreneur, Marv built two successful businesses from the ground up: Scenic Ridge Masonry and M. Yoder Transport. As a master craftsman and artist in brickwork, Marv had a rare talent for transforming houses into homes — creating beautiful, lasting work that will continue to impact the world for generations. His attention to detail, creativity, and dedication to his craft earned him the respect and admiration of everyone he worked with.

Marv was an active and proud member of both the American Legion and the Eagles, always finding ways to support his community.

Marv loved his time with his kids, supporting his daughter's dance passion and his boys' days in baseball. He poured into them and other young boys in the community by coaching many youth baseball teams.

An avid outdoorsman, Marv found joy in mushroom hunting, fishing, golfing, skiing, and spending time in nature. His adventurous spirit was matched only by his ability to make a room come alive the moment he walked in. His infectious smile, laughter, and zest for life made every moment with him unforgettable.

Marv lived every day to the fullest. His life motto was "I may not be smart, but I can lift heavy things," but to be honest, he was an incredibly intelligent man.  His kindness, energy, and the beauty he left behind — in both his work and his relationships — will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by four children: Karrina Wright, Devin Yoder, Isaiah Yoder and Damon Yoder (fiance, McKayla Palmer); four grandchildren: Adalyn, Vincent, Kenley and Hendrix; his parents, Daniel and Clara Yoder; siblings: Mary Ann (Steve), Wilma (Daniel), Nelson (Joanna), Joseph (Carolina), Rosanna (Crist) and Reuben (Emily); numerous nieces and nephews; his best friends: Jake Miller, Matt Steiner and Jamie Neuenshwander; and his beloved cat child, Nifty-Fifty, (that was not really his cat, but was definitely his cat.)

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Millersburg Eagles #2418 to help benefit others.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3rd at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, Ohio with Pastor Dale Duncan officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Online condolences can be made by visiting www.alexanderfhinc.com.
