Rick MacDonald, beloved for his strength, aptitude and endurance, passed away peacefully on the 26th of April 2025 surrounded by family and loved ones. Born on August 7th of 1955, Rick lived a life of passion and strength having contributed over 40 years of leadership at Burke E. Porter Machinery and had a love for his motorcycle, camping and grilling.
Rick is preceded in death by parents Raymond and Lorraine MacDonald and brothers Ken MacDonald, Randy MacDonald, Larry MacDonald, Gerry MacDonald and brother-in-law Mike Cherrette and sisters-in-law Karon MacDonald and Dorothy Cherrette. He is survived by wife, Michelle E. MacDonald (Cherrette), son Christopher J. MacDonald and daughter-in-law, Cynthia N. MacDonald (Brysch) and his brother Tony (Terri) MacDonald. Rick is also survived by numerous friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, and brother-in law James Cherrette and sisters-in-law Linda Cherrette, Helen, Cecilia and Anita Macdonald.
Cremation arrangements are being overseen by Memorial Alternatives. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 21st at 11:00 am at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW in Wyoming, Michigan 49509. Family and friends will gather at 10:15 am prior to services. At the request of the family, a reception will be held at a private home. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Crohns & Colitis Foundation in his honor.
