Theresa Margaret Hodges Obituary

Theresa (Tess) passed away in her 97th year at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Loving mother of John Mepham (Karen), Bob Mepham (Marion), Lynda Van Zuiden (Thomas), and Don Mepham (Tiny). Tess was the proud grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grand children.

Predeceased by her first husband Vernon A. Mepham and her second husband George W. Hodges, father of Brenda Parr (Jay) of Ottawa. Tess was predeceased by her brother William H. Sinclair and maintained a meaningful relationship with William’s children, Carol, Peter, Johnette, Jack, and twins Cathy and Nancy.

Tess and family spent early years living in “the bush” north of Caramat, Ontario where Vernon was a forester. The family moved to Cobourg, Ontario where Vernon was a math teacher until his passing, and Tess was a homemaker. Tess moved the family to Hamilton where she worked as a reporter in the court system finishing her career as a Senior Supreme Court Reporter. Tess could name all the good Judges and Lawyers in Ontario.

In retirement, Tess and George enjoyed life at Long Point, ON and Indian Harbour Beach, Florida, passing the time boating, golfing, and fishing.

Following the passing of George Hodges, Tess moved to Dundas to be closer to family.

The family would like to thank the staff at Amica, Dundas and St. Joseph’s Hospital for their kind and compassionate treatment of Tess.

Tess will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.

Cremation has taken place with a private family interment to follow.
