Judith Shuley (nee. Allen) Obituary

Judith Shuley (nee. Allen), 80, of Taylor Mill, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at her residence. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Roy & Geraldine Peggy Allen and grandson, Gunner Rachford.

Judith is survived by her sons, Michael & David (Tonya) Shuley; daughter, Laura (Tim) Ryan; brother, Richard Ray Allen and 9 grandchildren, Ashton, Spencer, Ethan, Blake (Katy), Brooke (Bowen), Grace, Sean (Sydney), Casey & Chandler.

Judy Shuley had a deep and enduring passion for genealogical research, dedicating countless hours to uncovering the threads of the past. For years, she volunteered at the Underground Railroad Museum, where she helped visitors trace their ancestral roots and connect with their heritage. Her devotion to family history also led her to serve two missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, working in the historical records department to preserve and organize valuable genealogical data. Her own research extended back centuries, with some family lines traced as far as the 1300s. Among her many accomplishments, she was especially proud of the book she published chronicling the rich history of her Allen family—a lasting legacy of her tireless work and love for family history. Above all, Judy cherished her own children and grandchildren deeply, finding her greatest joy in their lives, accomplishments, and the love they shared as a family.

The Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday May 23,2025, with the Funeral Ceremony to follow at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lakeside Park. Judith will be laid to rest at St. Stephen Cemetery, Ft. Thomas.

Memorials are suggested to the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, 50 E. Freedom Way, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
