Mark Douglas Murphy of Decatur, IL, went to rest in the arms of the Lord on April 26, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.
Mark was born on September 6,1958 in Decatur, IL, the son of the late Marzel Currie and Frances Marlene Murphy-Dinkins. He attended Decatur Public Schools. He was employed for some time at the Denver International Airport and the Vita France Bakery in Denver, Co. He was self employed as a skilled carpet and hardwood floor layer in Decatur for many years.
He leaves to cherish fond memories: his son Brylan Green of Decatur, IL and daughter Nastaja Murphy of Denver, CO; 7 grandchildren; his siblings Jacqueline Carol Murphy, Kimberly Ann Murphy, and Nathan E. Murphy all of Decatur, IL; his aunts Karen Murphy (Charles) Baltimore of Decatur, IL and Lynda Murphy Lake of Charlotte, NC; sister-in-law Gertrude Currie of Aurora, CO, and an innumerable number of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marzel Currie and Francis Marlene Murphy-Dinkins; his grandparents Robert J. and Hattie Bell Baker Murphy; his brother Michael L. Currie of Aurora, CO; and 2 sisters, Crystal Elaine Currie-Davis and Tina Marie Murphy of Decatur, IL.; great niece Jerleyah Murphy and great nephew Jermylin Murphy both of Decatur, IL.
