Joe Wesley Emerton was born December 1, 1934, in Jackson County, TN and he passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at his residence at the age of 90.

Joe was the son of Letcher and Martha Scott Emerton. He married Margaret Edith Raines on July 7, 1962, they shared 62 years of marriage and three children.

He was preceded in death by parents; brothers: Thurl Emerton, Lonnie Emerton and sister Mildred Brown.

Survivors include his wife: Margaret Emerton of Nashville, TN; sons: Timothy (Courtney) Emerton of Murfreesboro, TN, Mitchell Emerton of Hartsville, TN; daughter: Gail Karaisaridis of Nashville, TN; Brothers: Jim (Betty) Emerton of Nashville, TN, Billy (Mariah) Emerton of Nashville, TN; Ray Emerton of AK, Ralph (Maureen) Emerton of Nashville, TN; sister: Evelyn Richardson of Nashville, TN; Grandchildren: Nicholas Emerton, Bryan Prather, Amanda Hutton, April Bloodworth; Great grandchild: Colten Hutton and other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be on Saturday May 3, 2025, from 9 am to 1 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Fox officiating. Burial will immediately follow in John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery.
