LEGAULT, Cheryl Anne
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Cheryl Anne Legault, born on November 16, 1966, in Hamilton, Ontario. Cheryl passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, in her home in St. Catharines, at the age of 58 with her partner by her side.
Cheryl was a woman whose presence filled any room she entered, she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. She was survived by her partner, Robbie Matte, daughter, Sara-Marie Ricard (Ryan), son, Bruce Pitawanakwat and grandchildren: Kevin, Brandon, Elliott, Ethan, Hudson and Natalia. She will be sadly missed by her best friend Rayne as well as numerous other family and friends.
Cheryl went to Kernahan Park Secondary School and had many stories to tell from her time there. Eventually she would attend Niagara College for the Personal Support Worker Program in the spring of 2000. She was so proud in that green jacket. A workplace injury ended up making her unable to perform that job. Cheryl spent the next 21 years helping her daughter raise her children.
Cheryl was a dedicated partner, mother and grandmother. She spent recent years walking all over the city on her “healthy walks”. Come rain, sun, snow, hot or cold Cheryl dressed for the occasion. She met many new people along the way through “Helping Families in Western Hill!” as well as on her travels. She was determined to walk this entire city. She is still everywhere with us.
She is the air we breathe; she occupies our every thought and fills each moment of our lives. We will forever be missing you.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at Considerate Cremation & Burial Services, 26 Nihan Drive, St. Catharines (between Lake Street & Scott Street), 289-362-1144. Online condolences may be made at CCBSCares.ca
