Mr. Robert "Bob" Johnson, age 87, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona.

Funeral services for Bob will be held Monday, May 5, 2025, at 10:30 am at the Ankeny First United Methodist Church (206 SW Walnut St., Ankeny, IA 50023).  Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Ankeny First United Methodist Church. Burial will take place at Greenwood Friends Cemetery in Ankeny, IA.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The Ankeny First United Methodist Church, The Toni Dickey Memorial, or The Apache Wells Community Church (2115 N Gayridge Rd., Mesa, AZ 85215).

Born on May 15, 1937, in Des Moines, Iowa, Bob was the son of Maurice and Lucille Johnson. He graduated from Ankeny High School in the class of 1955. He built a life rooted in dedication and community, spending nearly four decades working at John Deere in Ankeny. His 39-year career reflected his steadfast work ethic and commitment to excellence. In his free time, he loved playing golf and even shot a hole-in-one! 

Bob was a longtime member of Ankeny First United Methodist Church and later became a member and associate of Apache Wells Community Church in Arizona. His faith was an enduring part of his life and provided him with strength and fellowship throughout the years.

He shared a loving marriage with his wife Louise, and together they raised two daughters, Tami and Toni. Bob cherished time spent with his family, whether gathered around a card table or enjoying a sunny day on the golf course. His granddaughters, Ashley and Kelley (Spencer), brought him great joy, as did his great-grandsons, Will and Cameron. He also shared a close bond with his sister Kathy (Larry), whose presence remained important throughout his life.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Lucille Johnson, and by his daughter Toni.

Bob’s legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with humor, love, and strength. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
