Anthony (Tony) W. Roth, 83, of Louisville, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, April 27, 2025, surrounded by his family.
He loved to fish and play golf, and after retirement, he was happiest sitting outside on his patio with a cold drink and “Roots & Boots” playing on the radio.
Tony was a proud graduate of Bellarmine University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. He spent 35 years working for L&N and CSX Railroad before retiring. He served in the National Guard, was an Honorable Kentucky Colonel, and was a former member of the St. Martin Brotherhood and The Elks Lodge of Lyndon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond M. Roth Sr. and Helen Roth, and his brother, Raymond M. Roth Jr.
Tony leaves behind his loving wife of 55 years, Judy; his daughters, Debbie (Tom) and Shannon (Matt); his brothers, Billy (Alyce), Jimmy (Peggy), and Johnny; his sister-in-law, Sandy; his grandchildren, Marie, Bradley, Evan, and Kate; and his great-grandchildren, Mason and Isaiah.
The funeral service for Tony will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 11 AM at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison at Barret Avenues with Father Philip L. Erickson officiating. Interment will immediately follow at St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation for Tony will be from 2-8 PM on Monday, May 5, 2025 also at Bosse Funeral Home.
The family would like to sincerely thank the caregivers from Helping Hands, as well as the dedicated CNAs and nurses from Hosparus of Louisville, who provided Tony with such kind, respectful, and compassionate care during his final days.
