In Loving Memory of Grayce Vander Broek (1929 – 2025)
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Grayce Vander Broek, who left this world peacefully on April 26 at the age of 95.
Born on October 10, 1929 in Hospers, IA, Grayce lived through nearly a century of remarkable change and growth, always embracing life with humor, resilience, and stoicism. A beloved mother and homemaker, she embraced quilting, painting, canning and gardening. Some of her best times were spent in her backyard. She worked for Pacific Bell as a switchboard operator and finished her long career with AT&T.
Above all, Grayce will be remembered for her deep love for family and the values she instilled: thrift, hard work, and quiet strength. She leaves behind a legacy that will live on in the hearts and lives of those who knew and loved her.
Grayce is survived by her daughter, Allyson and son-in-law Matt, and preceded in death by her husband, Ed and all her siblings.
A private family service will be held gravesite. Those who wish to honor Grayce in some way can make a small donation to a local garden club or simply plant something in their yard that will bring you joy.
