Phyllis R. Gysan, age 61, of Castalia, passed away unexpectedly Sunday April 27, 2025, in her residence.

She was born April 21, 1964, in Sandusky, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1982.  Phyllis received her nursing degree from Providence School of Nursing, Sandusky.  She held numerous nursing jobs throughout her career, the most recent being a home health nurse and for Stein Hospice Services, Sandusky.  Phyllis enjoyed music and played organ for various area churches for many years and she loved her cats.  

She is survived by two brothers Wayne (Kim) Gysan, and John Gysan; nieces and nephews Michelle (David) Porcher, Robbie (Courtney) Gysan, Nikki (Adam Priestas) Gysan, Melanie Gast, Joey (Brittany) Gast, and Chris Gysan; and several great nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Stella (Manhart) Gysan; and sister Florence (Alvin) Gast.

Friends may call from 10 AM until time of services at 11:30 AM Saturday May 3, 2025, at Ransom Funeral & Cremation Service, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia.  Burial will be held later in Castalia Cemetery.
