Kyngg J'Brion Prince Obituary

Kyngg J’Brion Prince, affectionately known as Red Bird, Sunshine, Roy, Kynggy Poo, KP, and KP Big Steppa, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the age of 11 in Columbia, Missouri. He was born on June 25, 2013, in Columbia, Missouri, to Brianna Prince and Jhaz McKee.

Kyngg was a sixth-grade student at Lange Middle School and previously attended Cedar Ridge Elementary where he graduated Fifth grade. He proudly received the Principal’s Award in Kindergarten. He continued to grow into a smart, driven, and confident young man. Kyngg had a heart full of love, a head full of jokes, and the kind of presence that commanded a room.

Kyngg accepted Christ at an early age. He was a proud and faithful member of Russell Chapel CME Church, where he was baptized and served as a Junior Steward. His love for God showed in his actions, his spirit, and the way he loved others.

Kyngg had a fierce love for sports—basketball, football, baseball, and WWE was his world. He was a die-hard fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, he repped red and gold with pride. And when it came to basketball, KP Big Steppa believed he could shoot 3’s like Steph Curry—even though, truth be told, he never made a 3-pointer. But if confidence counted, he was the real MVP. He played baseball with the Douglas Bulldogs League from the age of five. He also loved watching cooking and pimple popping videos on YouTube. He was the next Chef Boy ‘R Kyngg. He always kept the energy fun, light, and loud—in the best way.

Kyngg was a truly unforgettable young man whose smile could light up any room and whose spirit radiated warmth, humor, and courage. He had the kind of personality that couldn’t be ignored—full of quick wit, boldness, and that signature charm that made everyone love him and feel like family. If you knew him, you loved him.

“He meant what he said and said what he meant.”

Kyngg fought health battles that would’ve broken most people, but not him. He carried his challenges with quiet strength and unwavering faith. He never complained. He never gave up. He faced each day with a warrior’s heart, showing everyone around him what real courage looks like. Kyngg was a true fighter and the strongest person we know.

Kyngg leaves behind a legacy of love. He is survived by his parents, Brianna Prince and Jhaz McKee; his siblings, Jaylen McKee and Jhazmyne McKee; his paternal grandparents; William Morgan, and Gabrielle McKee-Copes and maternal grandparents; Georgia Prince and Maurice Banks; great-grandparents, Bonnie Morgan and Helen Jackmon and Edith and Lawrence Prince and Christine Banks. Also honoring his memory are his beloved aunts, Arianna Prince and Whitney Morgan. Several uncles, his cousin-brother Crue Prince, and a wide circle of cousins, extended family, classmates, church members, teachers, doctors, nurses, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved Uncle P, She’Aun DiCarlo Prince, and many cherished family members who are surely holding him close now in heaven.

Kyngg J’Brion Prince—KP Big Steppa—was one of a kind. His absence leaves a deep and painful emptiness, but his joy, strength, and spirit will live forever in the hearts of those who love him. As he walks around Heaven, he’s still talking trash, still trying to hit that three, and still stepping big—just like always.
