NILES, MI-Charles Camerer, 87, passed away April 26, 2025, at his home in Niles. He was born on October 17, 1937, in Mishawaka.
Surviving is his wife, Sheryl Camerer, a daughter, Cristy Camerer, 2 stepsons, Wayne Kohler, Brad Kohler, 7 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil & Velma Camerer, a son, Curt Camerer, and a sister, Mary Jane James.
Charles graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1956 and was a member of the Army Reserves. He liked collecting classic cars, attending many car shows, and was a member of the NSRA. Charles enjoyed refinishing furniture, hunting, fishing, and his winters in Florida.
Per his wishes cremation will take place. A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Smith Chapel Cemetery, 29858 Redfield Street Niles, Mi. 49120. Food & fellowship will follow in the chapel area.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
