Dewaine D. King Obituary
Dewaine King, age 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at his residence. He leaves behind a legacy of memories, love, and laughter with those who knew him.
Dewaine is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Julie King, who stood by his side through life's many adventures. He has one surviving brother, David King (Deb). He was the loving father of Sarah King (Kyle Elliott, children Sloan and Duke) and Ryan King (Sandy, children Adam King (April), Ashlee Durre (Joe), Amanda Fehrenbacher (Aaron), Ashley Freed, Austin Freed (Emma), and Kayla Wehrstedt (Chris).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orva and Alberta King, his brother Denny King (Diane), and children Randy and Mellissa King. His memory will live on through his 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Dewaine was renowned for his quick wit and hilarious sense of humor. He was a charismatic, master storyteller who could captivate a room with his jokes and anecdotes.
He was a skilled design engineer and successful entrepreneur. He founded Sage Plastics in 1976. He later co-founded Xanxx with Russ James. Together, they brought on two additional partners, John Rodgers and Ray Rasnick. In 1995, they sold their company to Cooper Industries.
He had a great passion for boating and fishing, spending as much time as he could in Cedarville in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Sanibel Island, Florida. He enjoyed hunting and collecting antique guns. He loved hosting family parties at the cabin and farm.
Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 3-6 P.M. at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 2995 E – 700 S, Wolcottville, IN.
On Friday, May 2, 2025, there will be a visitation from 10-11a.m, followed by a funeral service at 11 A.M. at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Wolcottville, IN.
The Rev. Anthony Appel will officiate the services and burial will follow the services in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange, IN.
Dewaine King will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
