Guilderland - Ronald James “Jamie” Cramer, age 65, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Guilderland on April 26, 2025, due to cardiac arrest. A beloved husband, father, friend, and rock and roll enthusiast, Ron’s sudden passing has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Born on April 11, 1960, at Brady Hospital in Albany, NY, Ron was the son of the late Ronald Albert and Mary-Ellen (Coogan) Cramer. He grew up in the Capital Region and graduated from Shaker High School with the class of 1978. He went on to earn his Electrician’s degree from Hudson Valley Community College in 1980.
Ron built a fulfilling career working with his hands and his heart. He spent over two decades at St. Peter’s Hospital, first as an electrician and later as a Biomedical Technician from 1982 to 2006. He continued his work in the field at DML Enterprises in Green Island from 2008 until his retirement in 2020.
On July 19, 1991, Ron married the love of his life, Becky (Lovelace) Cramer, in a beautiful backyard ceremony that reflected their deep bond and love of simple, meaningful moments. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, music, family, and unwavering devotion.
To Ron, his greatest accomplishment wasn’t his career; it was his role as a husband and father. He was, in every way, the best Dad and Husband in the whole wide world. His children, Alison, Jacqueline, and Ronald Albert Cramer, were the pride and joy of his life.
Ron was a true lover of classic rock and could often be found with Becky by his side, rocking out at SPAC in the summer or catching shows at The Palace or The Egg during the colder months. He also had a passion for muscle cars, especially his prized 1976 Cutlass Supreme and his roaring 2017 Challenger SRT Hellcat; vehicles that brought him pure joy and an occasional need for speed. At home, he found peace relaxing on the couch with his cherished Cane Corsos, Sam and Izzy.
Ron is survived by his loving wife Becky, his children Alison, Jacqueline, and Ronald Albert Cramer, his aunt Elizabeth Powhida, uncles George Coogan and Kenneth Cramer, and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends who will miss him dearly.
The Cramer family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Guilderland Police Department and the Guilderland EMS crew for their compassion and support during this devastating time.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ron’s life on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Bowen and Parker Bros. Funeral Home in Latham. Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Ron’s memory to your local first responders—a fitting tribute to a man who lived with heart, spirit, and an enduring love for those around him.
