James C. Swope, Sr. Obituary

James C. Swope, Sr. passed away on April 26, 2025, at the age of 74. He is leaving behind the love of his life and wife of 32 years, Tina (nee Mcvey), with whom he shared a beautiful partnership, devotion, and deep affection. Their marriage was a shining example of love and teamwork.

Jim graduated from Bristol High School in 1968.

He went on to serve his country until retirement. Jim joined the United States Army in 1969. He was in the 10th Special Forces Group. Jim was a proud Green Beret and Special Forces Medic. He joined the Bristol township Police force in 1973 as a patrolman. During his years working shift work, he continued his education, graduating from Trenton State College, earning the degree of Bachelor of Science. He held the rank of Corporal, Detective, Sergeant, and Lieutenant. Jim was a K-9 instructor and a proud graduate of the 147th FBI National Academy

Jim will always be remembered for his kindness, intelligence, generosity, humor, strength, and bravery.

Son of the late Harry John Swope(Shirley) and Mother Jean. Brother of the late John T. Swope and Joanne Swope. He is survived by his son, James C. Swope, Jr. (Wendy). Grandpa of Jessica, Jacqueline, Jared, and Cooper. Brother of Judy Potter (Robert). Brother-in-law of Daniel Nocito (Sharon), Cheryl Eustace (Dennis), and Ginny Amati. Stepbrother of Brett Shugar (Stacy). Uncle to one niece, many nephews and great nephews. Dad to his loyal 4-legged son Harvest Moon, aka Moonie.

Relatives and friends are invited to Jim’s Life Celebration Thursday May 8, 2025 Beck/ Givnish Life Celebration Home 7400 New Falls RD. Levittown 19055 5pm - 8pm followed by religious service 8pm. Interment will take place Friday, May 9, 2025, Funeral processions will form and leave Beck/Givnish Life Celebration Home promptly at 8:30am for Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
