In Loving Memory of Daisy Santiago September 7, 1943 – April 26, 2025
Daisy Santiago, a devoted wife, cherished sister, and faithful servant of God, passed peacefully into eternal rest on April 26, 2025, at the age of 81.
A lifelong resident of Ashtabula, Ohio, Daisy's life was a beautiful testament to faith, family, and selfless love. Born on September 8, 1943, to the late Marcial and Rosa Rodriguez, Daisy was the eldest of thirteen children and a steady, nurturing presence in her family.
Daisy was a faithful and active member of San Juan United Methodist Church, where she served in numerous roles with grace and dedication. Her ministry included work as treasurer, council president, worship leader, adult Sunday school teacher, and Vacation Bible School volunteer. Her love for Christ shone through her actions, and she was a guiding light in her church community. Although Daisy had no children of her own, she devoted her life to caring for her siblings and supporting others in times of sickness and need. She was known for her compassion, generosity, and deep sense of responsibility—traits that defined her character and left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Daisy also had a great appreciation for the past, reflected in her love of collecting antiques. She found joy in the companionship of her beloved animals and created a home filled with warmth, history, and heart.
She is survived by her siblings Madeline, Anna, Lillian, Gabriel, Victor, Walter, Robert, and Ivan, and was preceded in death by her brothers Wilfredo, Edwin, Alvin, and Teofilo. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francisco.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, 12:00pm to 2:00pm with funeral service to follow at Fleming-Billman Funeral Home, 526 Prospect Road, Ashtabula, OH 44004. Pastor Byron Gurnee will officiate the service, followed by a procession for interment at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Carpenter Road, Ashtabula, OH 44004.
