Ordell P. Akre, 85, St. Joseph, MO. passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 in Saint Joseph, MO. The family would like to extend special thanks to Living Community Center and Mosaic Hospice staff for their loving care.

Ordell was born August 21, 1939 to Palmer and Ethel (Iverson) Akre in Clarkfield, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church, Boyd, Minnesota. He graduated from Boyd High School, Boyd, MN.

On September 19, 1958 he married LaVonda Winge in Dawson, MN. To this union four children were born. They were later divorced in 1976. On July 1,1979 he married Glenyce (Kompelien) Lewis in Cottonwood, MN. She preceded him in death in 1998. On April 3, 2000 Ordell married Betty (Crawford) Lynne in Flandreau, S.D.
  
Ordell served in the U.S. Navy for four years.  He was active in the American Legion in Clarkfield & moved his membership to American Legion Post 359 in St. Joseph, MO.  

He was a barber in Clarkfield, MN for 35 years. He retired and moved to St. Joseph, MO. He enjoyed time with his family, fishing, boating, golfing & playing any card games. 

He never met a stranger and was always there to help anyone that needed something. His personality will never be forgotten by family & friends. He lived life to its fullest. 

In addition to his wife, Betty, he is survived by his two children, Brian (Ruth) Akre, Hillman, MN; Vicki (Sean) Mosher, Blaine, MN; three step children, Jeff (Vicky) Lewis, Granite Falls, MN;  Todd Lewis (Candy), Andover, MN; and Nona (Mark) Wallert, LaPorte, MN; 11 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carol Kompelien & brother-in-law, Rube (Michelle) Kompelien. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin daughters, Tammy Rice & Tiffany Ballard; grandson, Collin Bettis; brother-in-laws, Jim Crawford and Darris Kompelien; step son-in-law, Tim Fruin, and step-daughter, Lori Fruin. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 17th, 2025, at 12 PM at Clarkfield Lutheran Church, with visitation at 11 AM. Interment with military honors to follow in the Clarkfield Lutheran Cemetery.
