Jerry W. Mitchell, age 71, of Hammond, IN, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alicia; sons: Daniel (Jenny) Mitchell, Adrian (Allison Boswinkle) Mitchell; stepdaughter, Julissa Gonzalez (Sean) Kotvasz; grandchildren, Valentina and Lorenzo; sister, Rita (Jerry) Eppley; several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in passing by his parents: Kenneth and Beula Mitchell; and his sister, Lana.

A Funeral Service will take place on Monday, May 5, 2025, 7:00 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home, Hammond with Fr. Jeffrey Burton officiating.  Friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday from 4:00 PM until time of service at 7:00.

Jerry is a retired Millwright from LTV Steel and a member of Local 1011.  He formerly delivered Auto Parts for Van Senus Auto Parts. Jerry liked fishing as well as tinkering with cars.  He loved to watch NASCAR.  Jerry will be missed greatly by all who love him.
