Patricia Ann Carrere (neé Burns) passed away peacefully at home in Bear, Delaware on April 26, 2025, at the age of 86.

Patricia was born on November 30, 1938, in Wilmington, Delaware, and grew up in Newark, Delaware. She graduated from Newark High School.

Patricia was married to the love of her life, Earnest A. Carrere, for 65 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to family and friends.

Throughout her life, Patricia held a variety of jobs, but her favorite was working in libraries. She found great joy in her work always eager to help students and colleagues alike and spent her later years at Delaware Technical Community College, from which she retired.

Patricia lived a vibrant and full life. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, decorating her home, reading, watching game shows, and taking road trips with Earnest. She was always ready for a good party, cherishing every chance to gather with friends and family especially Christmas Eve.

Patricia’s warmth, humor, kindness, and welcoming spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her compassion, her quiet strength, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and valued with no judgment.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her.

She is preceded in death by her Husband Earnest A. Carrere, and Mother Helen (Burns) Baker. She is survived by her Four Children: Joe (Bonnie) Carrere, Elkton, Md. Nancy Smolka, Smyrna, De. Tim (Jenn) Carrere, Wilmington, De., Kelly (David) Carrere, Bear, De. Twelve Grandchildren: Mandi (Sam) Rosado, Linsey Varites, Jen Smolka, Natasha (Vernon) Carrere, Amie (Joe) Carrere, Michael Smolka, Brittany Avery, Joe Carrere Jr.,Tim Carrere Jr.,Rachel Carrere, Josh Carrere, Samuel Carrere.Nine Great-Grandchildren, and One Great-Great Grandchild

A funeral servicie honoring Patricia's life will be held at 2:00PM, Friday, May 2, 2025, at Marshallton United Medodist Church, 1105 Stanton Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808. With a viewing begining at 1:00PM.
