Henry O'Dell (Dale) White passed away unexpectedly on April 26, 2025, at the age of 70. Born in Detroit, Michigan, at Florence Crittenton Hospital to Henry and Naomi White, Dale was the firstborn of six children: Rodney, William, Keith, Karen, and Brett. His youngest brother, Brett David, preceded him in death.
A proud graduate of River Rouge High School, Dale went on to study broadcasting at Ohio Institute of Technology, where he was on the Deans’ list, and he attended Specs Howard School of Media Arts. Dale spent over 40 years in media, starting at WBNS 10TV as a camera operator and then becoming an Executive Producer, where he earned both Emmy and Telly Awards. He later co-founded Brainstorm Media Inc. with his best friend Ron Thielman, aka “T Bone.” Dale also played key roles in faith-based and educational media, including work at World Harvest Church and the Ohio Center for Broadcasting.
Most recently, Dale served as Media Director and teacher at Fairfield Christian Academy, where he mentored students and used his talents to glorify God. He was instrumental in performing a deep dive into the family genealogy, preserving stories that meant so much to those around him. A man of many talents and passions, Dale was also a powerlifting world record holder, musician, and the family’s beloved documentarian.
He is survived by his former wife and lifelong friend Priscilla White; sons Dale Jermaine and Jamie Lee; granddaughters Lauren Cheyenne and Danielle Marie; siblings Rodney, William (Sharron), Keith (Denise), and Karen (Gordon) Moore; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Dale will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his warmth, talent, faith, and love for family.
