Mrs. Linda Rae Bates, age 80 of Centreville, AL , passed away April 26, 2025 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 2-P.M. from Hubbard Springs Baptist Church in Centreville. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Bro. Devin Huffman will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1-2 P.M. at the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents: S. Johnson and Jeanette Cooley Johnson, husband: Clarence Bates, and sister: Joyce Keeton.

Survivors include her son: Mark Bates (Teresa) of Duncanville, daughter: Wendy Smitherman (Kenneth) of Centreville, brother: Michael Johnson of Centreville, sister: Debra Williams (Dale) of Centreville, and granddaughter: Faith Bates of Duncanville, niece: Tina Mullinex Matherson of Moundville, and great niece: Graceanne Mullinex of Centreville.

Honorary pallbearers will be: The nurses and social workers of Amedisys Hospice.

Active pallbearers will be: Keith Price, Larry Cooley, Roger Kerr, Jeremy Kerr, Dale Williams, and Kenny Smitherman.
