Colonel Edward G. Buck Jr. M.D. Obituary

Colonel Edward G. Buck, Jr M.D., age 88, of Marion passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Kingston Residence of Marion.

On March 2, 1937 Edward was born in Lordsburg, New Mexico. The son of the late Edward G. Sr. and Katherine E. (Brent) Buck.

Edward was a lifelong devoted Lutheran. Edward attended Olympia High School in Washington and graduated with the class of 1955.

On December 7, 1963 Edward married his soulmate, Marilyn A. (Jungclas) Buck at the Faith Lutheran Church in Lexington, Kentucky. The loving couple shared 61 marvelous years together.

Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving as a Urologist from 1964-1984. Edward and Marilyn were stationed in various locations including: Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, California, Germany, and Korea. During his military career Edward earned the rank of Colonel and numerous medals including: the U.S. Army Skinner Medal and 3rd Meritorious Service Medals.

After returning home, Edward served the Marion community as Urologist through his private practice from 1984-1999.

Edward’s fascination with automobiles wasn’t just a pastime—it was a calling. While most high schoolers were dreaming of their first car, Edward went one step further: he built his own. With bare hands, a bold spirit, and a spark of ingenuity, he brought "Bunce-Buck" to life, an original creation that symbolized his fearless creativity and unwavering dedication. Edward’s favorite automobiles were Alfa Romeo and Crosley cars. Edward even raced some of his cars at Mid-Ohio and other race tracks.

Edward was proud member of various clubs and organizations including: Alfa Romeo Owners Club, American Urology Association, National Rifle Association, Crosley Owners Club, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Marilyn A. Buck; sons: Christian L. Buck and Brent (Shuang) Buck; grandchildren: Min Mei Buck and Tao Sen Buck; and brother, Wray (Dotty) Buck.

In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his brother, Fredrick Joe (Sharon) Buck.
