Dawn Godfrey Clayton, age 76, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025 at Maple Grove Health and Rehabilitation Center.

A service to honor Dawn will be held at George Brothers Funeral Service on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at 2pm. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

Dawn was born to the late Percy and Marian Godfrey on May 25, 1945 in Greensboro, NC. She graduated from Grimsley Senior High School. Dawn worked at Sears and Cass Jewelers. She was a long-time member of Southside Baptist Church.

Dawn is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Dale Clayton.

She is survived by her loving dog Chloe; nieces, Katherine Stanley of Greensboro, Kimberly Andrews and her husband Tommy of Randleman; four grand-nieces and nephews, Olivia Hall of Greensboro, Tate Andrews, Luke Andrews and Shelby Andrews all of Randleman; and sister-in-law, Cindy Vestal of Greensboro.
