Patricia Joan Spaulding, 83, of Dickson City, passed away Saturday morning after a brief illness at Geisinger-Community Medical Center in Scranton. Her husband was the late Rodney K. Spaulding. The couple were married for 39 years.

The fourth child of eleven, she was born on July 29, 1941 in Northampton, MA to the late William R. and Irene Lewis Start. For most of her life she was a homemaker and started working in the early 1990’s and retired from Gertrude Hawk Chocolates in Dunmore. She loved her little dog Buttercup and spent all her time with her.

She is survived by her children, Norma McMillen, Oil City, Pa, Rodney Spaulding and wife Jane, Ohio, Sandra Nail and husband Jim, Missouri, Jeffrey Spaulding, Pa, William Spaulding, Germany, Karen Spaulding, Rosetto, Pa, Donna Brower and husband Paul, Old Forge. She has 25 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Pat leaves behind her sisters, Janet Hill and husband Bob, Barb Dziuba, Gerri Tower and husband Karl, Linda Bernier, Donna Breen, Beth Wood and husband Stan, Renee Upham and husband Bob and Sally Sicard. Sister-in-law, Betty Start and brother-in-law, Jim Benoit.

She was preceded in death by her only brother, William, the oldest sibling. A sister, Kathy Benoit, brothers-in-law, Bill Dziuba, Steve Bernier, Dan Breen, and Ed Sicard. Son-in-law, John McMillen and great-grandson, Alister Daubenspeck.

A blessing service will be held on Friday at 12 noon at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E Drinker St. Dunmore.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 10:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Interment is private at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Dunmore.
