Jose "Joe" Luna Gonzales, Jr., 84, of Buckholts went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 26, 2025. Memorial services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Gonzales was born in Rocksprings, Texas on September 18, 1940 to Jose and Rebecca (Luna) Gonzales. He retired from farming after many years. He was a member of Iglesia Bautista Calvario (Calvary Baptist Church) in Buckholts, TX.

Mr. Gonzales loved his family and treated his nieces and nephews as his own. He had a love and caring nature for animals; he enjoyed having his cats around and feeding birds. From his early years, Mr. Gonzales was a cowboy at heart, spending his life working on his parents' ranch and carrying that passion into his retirement. Those who knew him would recognize him by his signature black cowboy hat and boots.

He is survived by 2 sisters, Mary Trevino of Buckholts, TX, Lupe Banda of Little Elm, TX and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Gonzales was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers- Pete Gonzales and, and Jesse Gonzales.
