Jerry Wayne Oxendine was born March 1, 1962, at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, NC, to Wiley Oxendine and Dorothy Strickland Oxendine.

He passed away April 26, 2025, from an extended illness.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father Wiley Oxendine, his mother Dorothy Strickland Oxendine, his paternal grandparents William Carl and Nellie Jane (Hunt) Oxendine.  His maternal grandfather Ernest Strickland and a sister Tammie Sue Oxendine. 

Jerry is survived by his wife Sherry Smith Oxendine, his children: Brooks Anderson of Goldsboro, NC, Heather Stephenson (Adam) of Goldsboro, NC, Amanda Anderson of Tennessee, Erica Escobar (Robert) of Kenly, NC, Beth Marie Oxendine of Stantonsburg, NC, and Jeremy Wayne Oxendine (Ashley) of Conetoe, NC, siblings, Kathy DeCesare (Carmen) of Tierra Verde, Fl. and Wanda Oxendine of Lumberton, NC,  Maternal grandmother Agnes Swett Strickland, and fifteen grandchildren and a host of friends and family.

Jerry was a legendary boat builder. He spent more than 40 years building boats. Most of those years were spent with MayCraft boats.

He poured his heart and soul into every boat he built, and his legacy will live on in the countless boats he built.
