Jerry Wayne "Wink" Lowder Obituary
Jerry Wayne “Wink” Lowder passed away at home on April 27, 2025, at the age of 83.
He was born on January 21, 1942, in Stanly County to the late George W. Lowder and Sarah Elizabeth Osteen Lowder.
Jerry was a graduate of Millingport School and worked as a Machinist. He was a veteran of the United States Army with two years active duty and over twenty years in the reserves. Jerry loved Andy Griffin, gravy biscuits, McDonald’s, the Yankees, mountain trips, and watching golf. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Faith. He was also Baptist by faith and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Tabernacle.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Jonathan Lowder.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife Virginia; sons Stewart Lowder (Lawanda), Steve Holshouser (Janet), and Jeff Holshouser (Robin); brothers John Milton Lowder (Lynn) and George Steven Lowder (Cathy); as well as nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm on Wednesday May 7, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle, 3760 Stokes Ferry Rd, Salisbury, NC 28146. The funeral service will be at 1:00pm with Rev. Dr. Steve Holshouser officiating. The burial will follow at 2:30 pm at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC 28144.
