Betty Allen Miller
February 17, 1929 – April 27, 2025
Betty Allen Miller, born February 17, 1929, in Forsyth County, Cumming, Georgia, was the beloved youngest of six children born to William Henry Allen and Willie Ada Allen. Her family attended Cross Plains Baptist Church and she and her daddy were baptized on the same day. She graduated from Milton High School. One evening, while attending a dance with her cousin, Betty met Reps "Buddy" Miller, Jr., who would become the love of her life. They married on November 26, 1947, and together made their home in Norcross, Georgia. Betty and Buddy were blessed with three children: Elaine, Larry, and Randy.
As a young woman, Betty was athletic and loved sports. She played basketball in high school and was proud to be the only girl in her class to letter. She also enjoyed playing other sports, always staying active and involved. Betty loved to dance and found great joy in music. Her passion for music began when she was young, singing in a trio with her brothers. She had a beautiful singing voice and a deep, lifelong love for music of all kinds. She later sang with Sweet Adelines, a women's barbershop organization, and music remained a constant source of happiness and expression throughout her life.
She and Buddy loved traveling together in their camper, exploring new places and making special memories on the road. She also cherished spending time with her family. Shopping was one of Betty’s favorite pastimes, and her granddaughters especially benefited from that passion! In recent years, Bible reading, prayer, and her special devotional book were comforting and brought peace to her heart.
A talented and incredible seamstress, she poured creativity and care into everything she made. Her laughter was bright and contagious, and her love of beauty — especially jewelry — reflected her vibrant spirit. Betty brought warmth, style, and laughter wherever she went. She is survived by her large and beautiful family: her three children, Elaine, Larry, and Randy; her beloved daughter-in-law, Suzanne (Larry’s wife); and her seven grandchildren:
- Sarah (Greg) and their children Ashton, Judah, Josie, Ethan, and Everly
- Mark (Rebecca) and their children Harper, Emersyn, and Alina
- John (Andrea) and their children Micah and Evan
- Anna (Matt)
- Drew (Kathryn) and their children Linus and June
- Ben (Emilia) and their children James and Henry
- Daniel (Eliza)
Her legacy of love continues to grow through each new generation she inspired and cherished. Betty ’s life was a beautiful tapestry of family, music, and beauty. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her with her kindness, her vibrant spirit, and her unwavering devotion to her family. Betty had a flair for the dramatic, bringing color, humor, and a touch of sparkle to every moment. Her memory will live on in the music she loved, the stitches she sewed, the laughter she inspired, and the countless moments of beauty she shared with those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
