ASHEBORO – Kathryn Marie Fleming Gunter, 64, died Saturday, April 26, 2025, at High Point Medical Center.

She was born December 7, 1960, in Henderson and was the daughter of the late Merle Fenner Fleming and Linda Wright Fleming. Kathryn grew up in Vicksboro, North Carolina, and previously resided in Henderson and Warrenton before relocation to this area. She attended Vance-Granville College and was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed baking and was dedicated to her soap opera.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jimmy” Gunter.

Kathryn is survived by three sons, Willie F. “Lee” Carroll III of Spruce Pine, Nicholas J. Gunter (Ashley) of Asheboro and Joshua Gunter of Rockwell; eight grandchildren, Jessup Gunter, Jensen Gunter, Alexander J. Reid, Autumn D. Carroll, Natalie M. Carroll, Leanne R. Carroll, Jasper Gunter and Julianna Gunter; and her sister, Karen F. Maynard (Jerry) of Afton, North Carolina.
