Nellis Mae Jackson Roberts was born on June 10, 1936 in Birmingham, Alabama to Fred and Augusta Brown Jackson, Jr. the oldest of eleven children. She was a proud graduate of A. H. Parker High School class of 1954. She married the "love of her life" William Roberts on May 13, 1956 and they enjoyed married life for sixty-three years before his passing on April 2, 2020. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday (May 2nd) at 11:00 AM at Christian Valley Missionary Baptist Church (3104 - 33rd Terrace North 35207) with Pastor James T. Caver officiating and interment in Elmwood Cemetery. Her loving survivors are: devoted children; Sherron (Eric) Benford, Michael Roberts and William (Loretta) Roberts, her sisters; Evelyn Thomas and Waunce Robinson, nine grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her remains will lie in repose on Thursday (May 1st) from 3 until 6 pm at the funeral home. Westside Funeral Home Fairfield Directing.
