With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Connie F. Barnett, age 68, a beloved wife, mother, and daughter, who left us on Saturday, April 26, 2025. She was surrounded by the love of her life, Paul, in the comfort of her home. Born on August 10, 1956, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Connie was the cherished daughter of Floyd and Mary (Philpott) Abney. Connie's journey began at Ben Davis High School, where she graduated in 1974. It was there that she first discovered her passion for music and singing, becoming a dedicated member of the choir.

On September 13, 1980, she married her soulmate, Paul Barnett, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love that spanned over 44 years. Throughout her life, Connie demonstrated incredible strength as she faced and overcame the challenges of being a 12-year breast cancer survivor. She devoted 20 years to her role as an administrative assistant for MSD of Wayne Township, making lasting connections and impacting the lives of those around her before she retired in 2020. Connie lived her life with unwavering faith and a deep love for God, striving to honor Him in all that she did. As a member of the Grace Pointe Church of the Nazarene choir and praise team for more than a decade, she brought joy to many through her music.

Above all, Connie was a devoted mother, and her daughter Morgan was her pride and joy. Their bond was special; not only was Connie a nurturing mother, but she was also Morgan’s best friend, providing steadfast support and comfort throughout their lives together. The love and strength she shared will be deeply missed.

Connie is survived by her loving husband, Paul Barnett; her daughter, Morgan (and Daniel) Ligon; stepchildren, Deanna Dickey, and Troy Barnett; and her adored dachshund, Reese. To honor Connie’s remarkable life, we invite you to join us for calling hours on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A heartfelt funeral service will follow on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Hall-Baker Funeral Home in Plainfield, with Pastor Tim Kellerman officiating. Connie will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
