Anne B. Kerchowski (Kerr), a former longtime resident of Chicago, IL, was born September 20, 1917 and passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the age of 107.
Anne grew up on Chicago’s Southwest Side, graduated from Lucy Flower High School and was an employee of Western Electric Company in Cicero, IL for many years. After retirement, she volunteered for the Pioneers, using her passion for sewing to help make items for hospitals and organizations in need. In addition, she regularly volunteered at St. Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church in Chicago. She was also an avid crocheter, bingo player, and ballroom dancer. Anne was happiest when she had things to do, places to go, and people to see.
She amazed many with her ability to live alone in Chicago, drive a car, shovel snow, and rake leaves until the age of 99 when she suffered an accident, requiring a move to Naperville to be closer to family.
Anne held her family in the highest regard. She was generous beyond measure and had a deep sense of love, loyalty, and gratitude to everyone connected to her family tree. Anne touched so many hearts and was loved by all.
She is preceded in death by her son, Robert W. Kerr. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Elaine Kerr; granddaughters, Karyn Elsbury (Edward) and Michele Fill (Douglas); great-grandchildren, Michael Fill, Madeline Fill, Brittany Elsbury James (Brian), and Amelia Elsbury.
Services and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to help find a cure for Parkinson’s Disease in memory of Anne’s late son, Robert. Donations in his memory may be made to: The Michael J.
